Host a Pottery Hen Party or other group event
You can chat, laugh and have a glass of something while you’re making. Everybody will have a ball – plus a memento from the day.
I offer two options for what you can make at your party and they’re suitable for all abilities. I’m a relaxed and encouraging teacher and give one-on-one help if somebody is struggling. Prices include all materials and firing. Depending on my firing schedule, you can collect your work from my studio 2-4 weeks after the event.
Earthenware Mini sculpture
Your guests will make 2 pinch pots from earthenware clay. It’s not difficult and is actually a very “mindful” activity. The two pots are joined, and texture and sculptural details are added. Although the results are amazing, it’s very doable for even the most craftsy-shy.
You can chose to make a creature from my collection or I’m open to your suggestions. The sculptures are finished in a variety of techniques and will be as unique as their maker.

Stamped stoneware mugs
These are fun to make and also a bit challenging. However, they do require more kit and can only be made in my studio.
Your guests will practice creating a pattern with stamps on small slabs. Then they’ll make their mug using hand building techniques: cutting from a pattern, bevelling with a brayer, mitering edges and joining with slip. Every mug is unique according to the maker’s stamp pattern and handle.
After the party,I will glaze all mugs with a white dishwasher-safe glaze.
