Remember the joy of just making things?

As children, we didn’t worry about creating a masterpiece. We just loved the feel of the material in our hands, the curiosity of trying, and the pure fun of bringing an idea to life.

Somewhere along the way to adulthood, we tend to get nervous about “art.” We worry about failing, or we tell ourselves we aren’t creative.

My small Balcombe studio is a safe space to leave that pressure at the door. Pottery hand-building is wonderfully tactile, grounded, and forgiving. Once you sit down with a lump of clay, a cup of tea, and a friendly group, that childhood excitement naturally comes right back.

You don’t need an artistic bone in your body to join us. You just need a little curiosity. Come along, get your hands dirty, and surprise yourself with what you can make.

My studio was built in 1890 and used to be a village shop. It’s a cosy place to create and there’s plenty of light and charm. I both work and live here.
